Back to projects

This project will expand the long-standing television news program using streaming technology, but providing students with production experience, creating educational and entertainment opportunities, and include research, writing, public speaking. Funding would expand the program to incudes extra events and performances. Each participant in addition to writing a letter of intent and a short essay as an application is expected to contribute news stories, sports highlights, special interest features, community events and weather forecasts on a rotating basis as well as cover school wide, PTO and district information in the form of a script over the course of their two week broadcasts.  Additionally, they are strongly encouraged to explore both on air and behind the camera technical experiences.   They will also promote school wide participation by asking students to submit a sentence using the word of the week and feature the ones selected on both the graphics that scroll throughout the day and during our show. Visits to local television stations to see a real production is also being considered.
