We’re excited to announce our 17th Annual Syracuse City School District Golf Tournament will be held on Monday, August 9, 2021 at the picturesque and challenging Pompey Club. We are looking forward to welcoming back our friends, sponsors and golfers to The Pompey Club this summer to support our students and teachers in Syracuse City Schools! Our friends Stan and Tom Gorman, owners of The Pompey Club, have been working hard to provide everyone with a great day of golf and carefully following the NYS and CDC guidelines for outdoor activities and gatherings.
During the past year, our Foundation has continued to provide supplemental education grants to teachers, working with them to facilitate projects that could be completed in classrooms or when studying remotely. We also provided funds for WCNY TV Classroom, a program that allowed students with limited access to the internet to continue learning while watching this marvelous daily television broadcast.
Now, we are ready to push our fundraising efforts forward so we are able to provide grants to teachers this fall. Unfortunately we were unable to host our annual fundraising Recognition Breakfast this spring due to NYS capacity limits for public gatherings, but in addition to this golf tournament, we are planning other fundraising programs and we will be launching an Annual Giving Campaign in a few months.
