Trout in the Classroom is a national program that allows students the opportunity to raise trout from eggs to fingerlings while monitoring water quality and ecosystem health within the tank. Through this program students will engage in a stream habitat study and stream health analysis as well as learning about ecosystem connectivity and how human interactions can impact ecosystems. Trout in the classroom also helps foster a conservation ethic in students by connecting them to habitats within their county, as these trout will eventually be released in a stream within our local watershed. It also gives students the opportunity to gain an appreciation and understanding of our states water resources so they can help educate others on conservation and preservation.
