FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is OVEE?

  • OVEE is a shared media viewing experience – a powerful way to reach, connect and engage with audiences. OVEE stands for Online Viewing and Engagement Experience.
  • Created by ITVS and funded by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB), OVEE combines quality HD media and livestream content with the community-building conversation of social media in a single-screen experience.
  • Through OVEE, WCNY and the Foundation have created an online screening Virtual Watch Party for our breakfast that bring together sponsors, teachers, students, presenters, award winners, and special guests to watch streaming media and chat live in a virtual theater.
  • The entire Recognition Breakfast, complete with presentations, introductions, award winners, and steaming videos and images of grant projects and more will be included in this online event using OVEE.

    DETAILS
  1. To make a reservation to join the screening is free. You are only required to enter your email address. You should receive a confirmation email immediately following. Because this is still a fundraiser for the SCSD Educational Foundation, we do hope guests will consider making a voluntary donation to support our teachers and students this fall by going to our website at: www.scsdfoundation.org/donate
  2. To RSVP, please click here and follow the instructions: https://ovee.itvs.org/screenings/z2k1n
  3. One hour before the event begins, you will receive a reminder email from OVEE with a link to the screening.
  4. When launching OVEE, please be sure that your Adobe Flash player settings (https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/) are up to date on your computer and you have turned on your sound. OVEE works best with the Google Chrome browser.
  5. However, if you are using a different browser such as Safari on your mobile device, please refer to the media settings guide and help sheet: https://docs.google.com/document/d/140uzDy-zgcmsUkaHuHLVu5uF_b5ewsriAJzTB7Ce1c8/preview
  6. When you join the event, you are not required to provide your name. You can join anonymously if you prefer.
  7. OVEE complies with the Child Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and therefore requires all attendees to verify they are over the age of 18 when joining the event. Those under the age of 13 should watch with a parent.
  8. If you leave the screening, you can rejoin at any time. You do not need to RSVP again.
  9. You cannot pause OVEE. If you do, the film will not resume where you left it. It will fast forward and play the program at the current time.
  10. Once the program is finished, you cannot rewind or watch it again.
